Johnny,
My heart is breaking having to write this to you. To never see your smile, hear your voice in our morning phone calls or having our special times together hurts so much.
Our relationship was so special. Our time always filled with laughter, fun, jokes and yes sometimes even tears. It's not something I am ready to let go of. Having no choice, thank you for being the nephew others wish they could have. I had you in my life for 51 years and I know I should be thankful but why did you have to leave us so soon.
Loving you always and missing you already,
Aunt Joanne

To hold the members of Johnny‘s family I just want to post my condolences. Johnny was one of my best friends ever on the racetrack for 30 years. He will be missed and loved us so much I can’t even describe the hurt I feel like one of my own family. It was the best family and showed so much love to Johnny and so much friendship to me I will always remember that forever. Johnny was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known!

I have known Johnny for over 30 years. Truly heartbroken. We have lost such a kind spirit with a heart of gold. Guardian Angel for retiring thoroughbreds. The true meaning of grace. I will miss you. Prayers to your family.

Johnny and I have been friends since about 1989 when we both worked for Dennis Brida. I feel like Johnny and I grew up together, yet, Johnny and I tried to never grow up. Johnny an amazing friend and horseman. I knew he was a big part of my life but was somewhat unaware everone felt the same.
Johnny was aways smiling .. when he was ponying, cleaning a stall, always happy, positive and damn I cant believe we lost him. Always so positive, Life is too short , a reminder to tell your friends and love ones how u feel, i wish i could see Johhny smile and talk to him one more time.

I am so so sorry for your loss. I too was raised in Hempstead, a year older.
My life was spent, at Belmont, that is where almost all of us got our passion.
All in my prayers. God Bless. He was greeted, in Heaven, by thundering hooves.

We are shocked and saddened to read of John's passing. We came to know John as neighbors in Saratoga Mobile Court We lived across from him and thought so highly of John. We were so happy for him when he got the job at Salle. Since we are only in Saratoga for the summers we had no idea. We extend our condolences to his family. He touched so many and brought smiles to all. What a great guy!

The most painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said.
I am deeply saddened that I did not have the opportunity to see you since I left the Track. From us being family to Racetrack life you were always kind, sweet and without question a gentleman. I will keep my memories of you close to my heart. Rest Easy John, you are loved and missed dearly.

Don't know how we will get along without John and it is going to be very hard. John fought so hard to get horses off the track that needed to be gotten off and knew so many people he could depend on if we had to claim one to get them off the track. He would fight so hard to help us and when it was a done deal you could hear the joy in his voice when he called and said he is safe. Our lives will never be the same without him in it. RIP John, know you are up taking care of the heaveny herd and that we will meet again some day. Condolences to his family and friends, he was taken from us too soon.

John was a long time fixture here in NY. I would see him daily on his ponies. I first met him when he was also working for the NY Police Dept. with their horses. He will be missed.
