My condolences to the family for your loss. My prayer is that you each can find comfort in God's Word. Psalm 46:1 says: "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress."

Ursula and I taught at different schools, but many times the two of us were in classes or meetings together. She was a great partner in activities, because, though dignified, she had an appreciation for some of the absurdities of life and a witty sense of humor. I know that she will be missed. Sorrowfully, Jeanette

When I arrived at Stewart School in 1985 Ursula Lashen had already established herself as a very gifted Science teacher. Her ability to motivate young students as well as the wealth of scientific information she was able to transmit to them were the hallmarks of her program. One of her major projects at Stewart School was the Walk Through of the Solar System that Ursula spearheaded by researching the dimensions of the planets and the distance of each planet from the sun. The second floor hallway served as the setting for that project. Stewart Schools arboretum was used annually as an outside nature classroom. Ursula Lashen will be remembered by her colleagues as a warm, dignified, bright, cooperative and caring teacher and friend. My sincere sympathy is extended to her family.
