Jack was at Census in 1983 when I started. He played with us on the then Business Division team for many years. I haven't seen him in years but have thought about him frequently. Sorry to learn of his passing.

I've been a partner with Jack for many years, playing golf and bowling. I've always been impressed with his memory of things like baseball which he would share, usually without need of prompting. And whether he was rolling his bowling ball or swinging his golf club, I always considered him the Howard Cosell of our chosen pastime, because without fail, he would immediately describe what he had just done, what was wrong with it, how he needed to improve, even if he just got a strike or a hole-in-one. He was one-of-a-kind, and I'll always miss him.

Jack always loved playing the ponies. I remember when he hit the superfecta on some race and won a hugh wad of cash. He bought himself a Cadillac. Pure Jack. RIP Viggy.

I knew Jack mostly through our monthly poker games. He was lots of fun at the games as we’d chat about sports and Census among other things. He was a good poker player who was hard to read. We will very much miss him!

So sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I was at the Census Bureau but didn't meet him until after he retired, but I have enjoyed bowling and playing gofl with him for years now. We often went our to eat after sports and it was always interesting to hear his take on the latest sports news. I will miss him.

I'm sad to hear that Jack is gone. I bowled with him for about 10 years and was always amused when he would talk to himself about exactly what didn't work in the last ball (wonder if he did the same in his golf game). He would always try to help me improve, never remembering that I am not a good bowler and couldn't possibly accomplish the corrections he suggested. But I loved him for trying.

The Census Golf Club sends its condolences and thoughts to Jack's family. For decades, Jack played in the weekly golf league and participated in many monthly golf outings and club events. Many golf club members who also bowled with Jack often commented on Jack's wide gap in skill level between these two sports for him - something Jack himself admitted and had fun talking about with friends and co-workers. He traveled with members of our golf club throughout many years on golf trips to Myrtle Beach and other weekend golf getaways in the mid-atlantic. We will miss Jack's smiling face, upbeat attitude, sports stories and camaraderie on the golf course. - Jack Leidich, Census Golf Club Chairperson

Very sorry to find out about Jack. We are in a fantasy baseball league with him. He was one of the founding members 35+ years ago. I spoke with him on April 1st and he was looking forward to the draft on the 10th. We knew something was wrong when he didn't attend. He will be missed by everyone in our league. Once again sorry for your loss.
