John J. Khorigan, age 87, of Flushing, Queens, passed away on February 21, 2020. John was born on October 16, 1932 in New York City to his late parents John and Ruth (Plummer) Khorigan. He grew up in New York and spent his career working in the film industry and was a retired member in the Grip Department of Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Local 52, I.A.T.S.E. John married the love of his life, Barbara Smith, on August 13, 1960. During their almost 60 years of marriage they lovingly raised their children Richard and Kathleen; he also was the proud grandfather of his grandchildren, Brian and Erin.
John was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, kind heart, generosity, and ability to entertain anyone with his elaborate story telling. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, many of them at the family summer home that he built in Maine on Great Moose Pond. His beautiful life will forever be cherished by his friends and family he leaves behind; especially: his wife, Barbara; his son, Richard and partner Alice ; his daughter, Kathleen (Khorigan) Anderle and husband Joseph; his grandson Brian and wife Kaitlin; his granddaughter, Erin; and his great-granddog Henry.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 1st, at Krauss Funeral Home, Franklin Square, from 2:00PM until 6:00PM.
