Obituary of Charles Lecointe
Charles Bailey Lecointe (Charlo as he was so often called), age 64, passed away March 24, 2019 at Nassau University Medical Center. Charles was born on June 25, 1954 to Senhouse and Norma Lecointe in the Commonwealth of Dominica. As a young man he moved to St. Marteen, then St. Thomas and finally New York where he worked with the New York City Transit for 20+ years. Charles was a people's person. A man with a heart of gold. He loved his family and even strangers. He would give you the shirt off of his back and even put himself behind. He didn't get this heart far though, it was inherited by both parents. Charles leaves behind his wife, Alicetine, his five daughters, Kay, Nadglar, Vonetta, Ivanya, and Chequida. His legacy of eight grandchildren Mikhail, Nariyah, Ellisa, Crystal, Kayla, Stacey, Elijah, and Zoe who he loved very much lives on. He was very proud of each and everyone of you. Charles also leaves behind his loving siblings Shirley and Myrtle in the USA, Dave in London and McKell in Dominica. His nieces Tessa, Bertelie, Zisca, and Kadine (who is also his God daughter) had a special place in his heart. As Charles had no sons, he especially enjoyed bonding with his nephews Philmore, McGline, Allistair, Dojon and Dean. He also bonded with his son-in-law Chris and his brother-in-law Alvin over CNN and football. He enjoyed cruises with his step-son Jay over the years. Family was so important to Charles, too numerous to mention but there are a few special cousins, Lucielle, Verdlyn, Yolanda and Kenny. His aunts Yvette, Maggie, Julian and Eugene were dear to his heart as they are pillars of the family. His uncles Wilfred, Wellington, Huron, Harry and Briton lead by great example and he spoke of them in his final weeks. Also the entire Lecointe, Greenaway and John-Baptise family.
