Our prayers go out to my dear cousin Arlene and her children as they face the loss of their husband and father, Greg Parfumi. Greg was a man who endured great suffering in his life, but held onto his faith in Jesus Christ and the hope of resurrection. I will always remember his smile in the midst of pain he suffered. Our hope as Christians rests on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because Christ lives, we will live also, not only in this present world, but in the world to come in Heaven. I will speak at the funeral service on Thursday, March 7 from the Gospel of St. John 14:1-6 (NLT) “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Me. There is more than enough room in My Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me." Greg is in the presence of Jesus right now. I will see him again someday in Heaven. I hope to see you there too.
