I am sad to hear of the passing of an old friend, Helen Dembek, of the 3rd Pct. I was a detective from 1972-1985 in the Third Squad. It was always such a pleasure to work alongside Helen. She was friendly and spirited. At times it was a rough place to work, because of the constant workload. Helen never forgot someone's birthday. I remember the birthday cake I received. It had a small bottle of liquor on the icing.
