Gerland, Elfriede (nee Junge), 89, on February 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Resident of New Hyde Park for over 40 years. Longtime president of the Ladies Society of the Plattduetsche Home and served in various capacities at the Plattduetsche Home and in the German-American community. Beloved wife of Werner for 54 years. Devoted mother of Roger (Irene). Loving Sister of Herbert (Martha) Junge and the late Hinerich (Edith), Henry (Marga) and George (Gerdar) Junge. Adored grandmother of Jennifer and Stephanie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Krauss Funeral Home 1097 Hempstead Tpke., Franklin Square Wed. 7-9 pm and Thurs. 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Church Service at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mineola on Friday at 10 am. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Plattduetsche Home Society and Our Savior Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
