2 Timothy 4:7-8- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. Praise God for our Beloved Theresa's Victory in Christ Jesus, I know that she is rejoicing and was received by many Loved ones waiting for her Triumphant Entrance into our Lord's Embrace and Peaceful resting Place. I believe that if she can leave a message to the loved ones left behind, it would probably be something like this, "Don't stop Trusting in the Lord and never stop Fighting the Good Fight of Faith, for the Lord Jesus Christ, has a Crown for you as Well". God Bless the Capua Family and Louis Cruz, Rejoice, for your Mom made it Home.

MEMORIES
I will not spend my thoughts on the passing of Mrs. Theresa Capua. Instead, I will concentrate my memories on all the wonderful times I’ve spent with her. I believe, this is how she would want friends, relatives and close acquaintances to commemorate her life going forward.
For me, Louis Cruz, these memories consist of:
1) Watching Frank Sinatra videos together, singing his songs together and watching her tap her hands and feet to his music.
2) Sitting on the porch together and watching her delight as I fed the birds and her commenting on excessively noisy cars passing by saying: “Be quiet please”.
3) Having our weekly lunches together at The Burger Spot in Garden City. Seeing the joy in her eyes and smile on her face while eating a burger, drinking coffee and, most importantly, waiting anxiously for me to go next door to Food For Thought for her chocolate cake.
4) Our weekly drives to Adelphi University in the spring and summer and walking around the campus, watching the birds and rabbits, commenting on the beauty of the newly planted flowers and just sitting together on a bench and taking in the magnificence of the day. Then ending the day with her favorite treat … a vanilla ice cream bar with chocolate coating. Oh how she loved her ice cream.
5) I’m happy also for the memories of the many times I drove her into the city to spend the weekend with her daughter Joan. She loved the multitude of activities the city offered; especially the nacho chips at the Mexican restaurant. WOW she loved those nacho chips. They were barely on the table before her hand was snatching them up. It made Joan and I laugh.
6) I remember taking her to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, the city walking tour and her with Joan on the Bus Tour trip. Mrs. Capua knew how to appreciate the simplest joys in life … Her biggest joy being the love she has for her daughters Joan and Diane. (I say “Has” because in spirit that love never ends. She is still loving them from Heaven; she and their dad Vincent).
7) I laugh, even now, at the memory of me doing something or say something silly and her looking at me and saying: “Tu Sei Patzo”.
No. I shall not think of Mrs. Capua as passing. It’s not what she would want from loved ones and her children. I will smile happily knowing she is now with her husband Vincent, her sister Mary, her daughter Jean, her two brothers Louis and Arthur, her parents and friends who have waited for her.
I will rejoice in the fact that I have been fortunate enough to know and come to love this incredible lady …
--- a mother and friend to ALL she knew
… a woman who cared about people and loved GOD deeply
… a woman who gave warmth and comfort to others; in and outside of her family
… a woman and mother who personally sacrificed for the love of her family
… a woman who was brought into this world with little but her love and her resolve to make certain that her children would have a better life
… a woman who shared her wisdom and knowledge of life to her children and to those eager to learn from her life’s experiences.
Yes, I am beyond grateful that I have met and spent precious time with Mrs. Capua. This is why I will only think of the love she shared with everyone, (including me), and the best of times we shared together.
There is no room for sadness in my heart; for that is not what she gave me or taught me. My memories are filled only with the joy of our time together and knowing her joy continues in the presence of GOD and her family and friends.
