Obituary of Bernard J Caravella

Ben Caravella was brought into this world on October 10, 1924. His big beautiful life has been full of 98 years of love, wisdom, hard work, strength, friendship and family. He was a good, kind, honest man full of stature and grace. He was so strong and so gentle all at once. He had the best dry, witty sense of humor and a big smile that would light up his entire face. His stories were always thoughtful, meaningful and beautifully woven with heartfelt wisdom and experience. Often times words weren’t needed because his expression or a simple, classic Italian hand gesture was enough to say it all! He appreciated good company, peace and quiet and most of all a good meal, preferably Italian, of course. There are so many beautiful candid moments of our family captured on film by his eyes and heart. Always quietly observing, taking in the wild, crazy conversations, banter and laughter of his family. A family he created with the absolute love of his life, his whole heart, his wife of 76 years, Ann. He rested his hands in hers as she left this world and we’re certain hers were resting in his as he made his way back home to her again. Their love was a rare and incredible gift to bear witness to, to know, to come from. So many generations of our family begin from the center of that love. A father to 4, a grandfather to 12, a great grandfather to 22 plus two more on the way and a great-great grandfather to 2. He lives on in all of us who love him deeply. Love, Always.
