Obituary of Traute E. Malone

On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, Traute Elise (“Trudy”) Malone, age 96, passed away peacefully at home in Upstate New York. Trudy entered this world on May 11, 1926, in Hammerstein, Germany to Paul and Emma Hinz. She had two sisters, Christel (who passed away at the age of 4) and Ruth (who sadly passed away in 2006). During World War II, Trudy worked in an office for the German military and eventually got a job working on the American base working for the nurses. Eventually, Trudy, her parents, and sister had to flee their home. Her sister, Ruth, married American Air Force Sergeant, Robert Queen, who was reassigned to the United States and soon moved back there. While in the United States, they sponsored Trudy and her parents to come to the States and they arrived on January 5, 1954. While working for the A&P, she met her husband Joseph Malone and got married on September 8, 1957. Sadly after 28 years of marriage, Joseph passed away at the age of 55. In her spare time, Trudy had a love and passion for crocheting her “signature blankets” which are adored by all of her family. Trudy is survived by her two children Joseph (Maryellen) and Ruthie (John), her four grandchildren: Katherine (Gregory), Joe (Katherine), Laura, and Johnny, as well as her five great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Ian, Rhys, Joey, and Taylor. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jack, and sisters-in-law, Ann, Dolores, and Agnes. Trudy was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
