Obituary of Linda Y McCaskie

Linda Yvonne Rogers-McCaskie was born in Aruba, on March 6, 1950, to Marceline and Anatole Rogers. Her family was in Aruba because of her father's job, working at Largo Heights. The family later returned to St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies. She grew up there until 1966, when she moved to Brooklyn, NY to live with her aunt. She attended Erasmus H.S. and graduated in June, 1968. Linda married Lionel (aka Robbie) McCaskie on June 27, 1971. The marriage produced two children, Shawn and Alicia. Linda worked for Morgan Guaranty, Chemical Bank and finally Long Island Jewish Hospital for over 20 years, retiring in 2015. She had a zest for life, always looking on the positive side, with a broad smile. She loved parties, enjoying her bar-b-ques, kids’ graduations, and other celebrations. She prided herself in family and was the go-to person for her extended family as well. She knew where they were, whether sick or well (St. Maarten, Aruba, France, and Florida). She enjoyed her many travels to Aruba, Anguilla, Barbados, California, Florida, Hawaii, St. Maarten, and celebrating Carnival in Trinidad. Linda will be sorely missed by all that knew her. Most of all, she loved dearly her husband Lionel, and was proud of her two children, Shawn and Alicia, along with her five (5) grandchildren.
