My deepest sympathy to Christine and the Torregrossa Family. I was heartbroken to learn the news. Joe and I grew up in Franklin Square together. As youngsters, we were teammates in the F.S.A.A. Roller Hockey League at Monroe St. School, and in the Babe Ruth and Connie Mack Baseball Leagues. As adults, we collaborated on a few endeavors and I had the honor of briefly serving alongside him in the fire department. Joe always showed me a generous heart and a kind nature. He was even-keeled and I admired his dedication to life's priorities- family, friends, career, and community. I was fortunate to know him. "Thanks for being my friend, Joe. You fought the good fight. My sincere condolences and sympathy are extended to the entire Torregrossa family! I am his friend Robert Taccariello's sister Lisa. We used to live on the other side of Madison and moved away in 1979 yet my brother and Joe managed to remain close friends up until the end. I am so saddened by Joe's passing! It has been a pleasure to have known such a wonderful man with such a good soul and spirit. I will always remember Joe and his quick and easy smile and his wonderful sense of humor! The world has truly lost a great man and patriot. I am praying that you all find peace and comfort in this extremely sorrowful time by remembering all the wonderful times that you have spent together with him. As long as someone remembers the people who pass on with love and affection then they are truly still alive in our hearts. May he Rest in Peace.
