You are a rare individual, an amazing human that I look up to. I will always remember our Sunday trips to church and after ( the best part ) Nana breakfast. We love and miss you so much. There are no words that can describe the deep loss of you and Papa leaving us. We are missing you every day. Always know that Gavin and Skylar loved every inch of you. I'll never forget what we shared and I'll miss you calling out to me, "Jessie come over here & give me love." " Jessie. where did you get those gorgeous kids from?" My response always and forever stands, they got their looks and their blonde hair from their dear Nana. We love you Nana, for always. Until we meet again....

Dear Nana,
I know I said the same thing when I wrote the letter to pop pop but I can’t believe you are gone.
It’s been 6 months since Pop pop passed away, and I still don’t think it has truly sunk in that he is gone. And now you too…
Will it ever feel real to live in a world without you and Pop in it? This world will not be the same but I know you are reunited and dancing with Pop pop. Finally, you are home.
You loved us all deeply, and we felt it. I hope you were able to feel our love pouring right back at you. Because we love you so much. Then, now, and forever.
Thank you for highlighting the vow of marriage. You and Pop shared 77 wonderful years of marriage together, and it was an honor to witness both your love and friendship with each other. It helped ease the sadness of your death to know that pop pop was waiting for you on the other side.
Thank you for showing all of us what it meant to be fearless. You left England and traveled to New York at a very young age. You were brave and courageous, smart and funny.
I am going to miss everything about you, Nana. Including your famous pancakes and meatballs. I am going to miss our conversations during our jewelry shopping sprees at the church and uno/bingo family nights. How we could cover such a broad range of topics in a single conversation is beyond me.
I am going to miss watching Jayda race into your house and help you with your walker. You were so patient and taught her the song “bushel and a peck” which she will remember forever. You were the very best big Nana there is.
Most of all, I am going to miss hearing your voice and seeing your face. But, like I wrote in my letter to pop, I know this is not the end. You are now free, and at peace, and you are free to laugh, move, and dance in ways you haven’t been able to in years. You are now reunited with Pop pop and spending your days with the Lord. You are Home.
You are so very loved and deeply missed.
I love you very much, Nana
Until we meet again,
Kerrie

"Words of Remembrance" from the religious service of Joan Montalbano January 19, 2022. R.I.P.
Joan Montalbano Tribute (family)
Passed January 14, 2022
Funeral Service January 19, 2022
“Words of Remembrance”
The Montalbano family and I would like to thank you all for joining us today in saying good bye to a great woman, who lived a long, wonderful life, Joan Montalbano....
I am Gary Kolackovsky and I am joined here with Elissa, my wife and Joan’s oldest daughter, her sister, Joanne, and brother, Frank and our families. We appreciate all of your kind words, condolences, and sympathies for the passing of Joan.
While we are all saddened by Joan’s passing, we should celebrate the fact that she enjoyed a very long, happy, and active life right up until her demise. Very few people are able to, not only live to the wonderful age of 97, but remain active and healthy while living at home….and married to her husband, Frank, who also lived a similarly active and healthy life until his passing
6 months ago.
Joan lived a wondrous 97 years and I truly believe the reason she lived so long and so well was because of the love she
shared with her husband of 77 years, Frank. They were devoted to each other from the first time they met in England at the Fighting Cock in St Alban’s during WWII. I am sure that she is now on her way to be at Frank’s side in Heaven where they can go hand-in-hand together to whatever is in store for them….
Joan’s life was filled with many good times, but lived through many rough times. She was born in England and lived through the Great Depression. She survived the many scary bombing attacks on London during WW2, hiding and praying in a bomb shelter during those attacks. In support of the war effort, Joan worked on the assembly line in an airplane factory building British fighter planes. Joan’s life was a tribute to the Greatest Generation.
There was bright side for Joan during all of the wartime misery…she met the love of her life, Frank Montalbano. Frank was in the US Air Corp stationed at Thurleigh Air Base in England, nearby to St Alban’s. They married and Joan left her family and England for a new life the United States. Joan and Frank had three wonderful children, who would eventually have 6 amazing grandchildren and she was fortunate to have been “Nana” to her 3 beautiful great grandchildren.
Joan and Frank shared many good times and had many wonderful memories of places and people over the years. She loved traveling, volunteering for the March of Dimes, and walking around the Franklin Square neighborhood with Pat. She and Frank especially enjoyed meeting with her sister, Betty, and her husband Frank, at various golf resorts and in Atlantic City. It was always a lot of fun when Joan and Betty started telling funny stories with their British accents! Their laugh was infectious and, eventually, we would all be laughing hysterically at their tall tales!
And, after so many years and having lived such a long, happy, healthy life, we now find ourselves at that point in Joan’s life where we must say “goodbye” and “rest in peace” because you deserve it. All of our prayers are with you.
We love you and will miss you always....Rest in Peace, Joan.

Dearest Mom,
I will miss you and I love you very much. You were a very special mom. You took care of us with love, happiness and guidance. I have many happy, personal memories of our time together, with me, my family, our relatives and friends. Those were great times, and I will never forget them. I am grateful that you lived so long, 97 years, and you got to see so many changes in the world. I will cherish the memories of the many years that I had with you and I will pass these memories down to future generations to come. Even though I will miss you every day, I will always remember you dancing, singing and laughing. You are with Dad now and I am sure you are both smiling down on me and my family. Heaven has gained another angel and is lucky to have you both. Save a spot in heaven for me. Until we meet again…..
All of my love forever,
Your loving daughter,
Elissa
