Virginia Gavilan, 83, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother lost her battle with Covid 19 on May 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Nicolas Gavilan. She is survived by her sister Betty Eugster of Bogota Colombia, her children Patricia Gavilan and husband Oswaldo of Midlothian Virginia, Jairo Gavilan and wife Liliana of Valley Steam N.Y.and Sandra Schender and husband Roy of Burke ,Virginia. Grandchildren Brian Gavilan, David Gavilan, Danielle Schender, Nick Schender, Roy Schender, Riccard Gavilan, Emmy Gavilan, Maria- Cristina Gavilan and Miguel Gavilan, as well as great grandchildren Sammy Gavilan ,Teddy Gavilan niece Sylvia Eugster and nephews Carlos Eugster and Piero Eugster and family.
She loved her native Colombia and New York and was an aid Mets fan.She worked for many years at Flushing Hospital in the linen and supply department . She loved to cook, garden and care for her family. She enjoyed attending church, her bowling league and bowling friends and trips to the casino. She loved her cat Tiger and her parrot Pedro and always loved and fed all the stray cats in the neighborhood. She left a legacy of love, compassion and was a woman of great strength, all gifts she left her family.

Restrictions are requested by the Gavilan Family are Must show proof of being vaccinated twice, temperature will be taken, masks are mandatory, gloves and visors optional. All guests must sign in name and phone # for Covid contact tracing.
