Obituary of Gertrude Reinhardt

In lieu of Gaetana, daughter of Dominic Caratozzolo and Maria Billeci, was born August 21, 1918. Her name was changed to Gertrude when she started elementary school and later in life preferred to be called Trudy. Trudy Reinhardt left her earthly life due to natural causes on April 18, 2021, she is survived by her two children Mari-Ann Anderson (Milton), John Reinhardt Jr. (Alvenia) and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gertrude was a 1936 graduate of Walton High School in the Bronx. Gertrude met her future husband John Reinhardt, while both were working in the secretarial pool of Delahanty Law offices. She married John Reinhardt on February 23, 1946 on his return from World War II and raised their family as best as they could. She worked in the late 60s and early 70's as a bank teller/clerk and went on to engage in the arts of Calligraphy, doll making, oil painting, rubber stamp art, sewing, as well as flower drying art in her leisure. John Reinhardt Sr. passed in November of 1992. For many years Gertrude served the church with calligraphy memorials at St. Vincent DePaul feasts, she was also the past president of the National Doll Club and Long Island Scribes Association.
