Dr Allen was one of the kindest, compassionate persons that I've had the pleasure to meet.. as a neonatal nurse, we worked together for many years in the NICU at Northwell Manhasset.. I will dearly miss him with that infectious smile that he always carries on his face.. to his wife, children and family, I know it will be a long hard road without him but cherish all the memories in your heart and that will be your comfort.. I'll be praying for you all.. Dr Allen I'll always remember you!!

Dr Allen was the chief of Neonatology at Plainview Hospital when I worked on Maternity as a Social Worker and covered the Nursery. He was one of the kindest, soft spoken and most loving physicians. He had the most contagious smile and truly loved what he did. I’m so saddened to hear of his loss and sending My deepest condolences to his family and sending Prayers

I had the absolute pleasure to know Leslie on several different levels over the course of the past 25+ years. First as a valued volunteer of the Elmont Soccer club, where he served on their Board of Directors, routinely bringing youth teams to events that my home club would run annually. Then as a club coach where I had the opportunity to officiate his team's games during my early years as a referee. We served on the Games Committee together for LIJSL for a number of years, where he was still serving as the Girls U19 Age Group Coordinator. That followed by Leslie eagerly joining the Eastern New York Youth Soccer State Cup Committee, when called upon to serve as an Age Group Commissioner. I recall fondly when Leslie 'took up the whistle', officiating numerous matches where I coached, and others where we worked on the same crew. Throughout these years, and the many different levels of engagement, I can't ever recall Leslie NOT having a smile on his face. He clearly had a passion for people, especially children, and for the game (soccer). Our staff was so saddened to hear of his sudden passing, and we all (already) miss his infectious smile and laugh. Our sincerest condolences and sympathies to Elizabeth and family. Rest In Peace, Leslie.

I am gutted to hear about the passing of Leslie. I met him when he was a coach around the turn of the millennium and then officiated with him after he became a referee. His passion for soccer and life in general was contagious. I have nothing but positive memories of dear Leslie and my thoughts and prayers are for Liz and the kids.

What a wonderful man whose kind, caring, and joyful personality brightened up anyone he came in contact with. I worked with him often as a referee and you will not find a more dedicated official. I watched him several times on the field and he never ceased to amaze me with his enthusiasm, his kindness, and his love of working with children of all ages. It has been my honor yo know him!!!
