Obituary of Giuseppe Cascella

Giuseppe Cascella, age 76 of Elmont, NY passed away Tuesday September 15th, 2020. Joe, as he was known to most, was born on April 18, 1944 in Mola di Bari, Italy to the late Chiara and Antonio Cascella. Joe is survived and deeply missed by his wife Elena Cascella; his son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Janette Cascella, and grandchildren Joseph and Julia Cascella; his son and daughter-law Christopher and Deanna Cascella, and grandsons Christopher and Nathan Cascella; his daughter and son-in-law Clair and Roberto Cervoni, and grandchildren Alessia, Valentina and Vincent Cervoni. Joe is also survived by and deeply missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Franco and Maria Cascella, along with his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Nicola Cascella, and his sister, Ninetta Cascella. Joe was a generous man with a strong worth ethic. He immigrated to the United States when he was 22 years old and was able to provide a good life and the American dream to his wife and 3 children. Joe worked as a Longshoreman for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, listening to oldies music, eating seafood, andmost of all, playing with his 7 beautiful grandchildren. His family meant the world to him and filled him with joy. He willbe deeply missed. Friends may call on Friday September 18th from 4:00PM to 9:00PM at Krauss Funeral Home Inc., 1097 Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square, NY. The funeral will be Saturday September 19th at 9:30 am at St. Catherine of Sienna RC Church, 990 Holzheimer Street, Franklin Square. Interment will be in Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury.
